Steel Gate Installation
Customer Issue: Mrs. Small added a new driveway and parking lot to her property, and wanted a steel gate to put across the entrance.
Our Solution: We talked Mrs. Small through the options, and she picked a custom-designed dip-topped double swing gate. We installed the double opener on either side, with two-jointed robot arms on each side hooked into the steel leaves. Her car already had a build-in remote, and we synced it to the new gate opener without difficulty. A few rounds of testing later, and the customer was ready.
Gate Troubleshooting
Customer Issue: The gate wouldn’t move, even though the opener was making its usual sound when the customer pressed the button.
Our Solution: Our team checked the pistons and racks of this sliding gate before moving on to the opener. The motor and control systems were fine, but the chain had somehow gotten tangled around the spool, preventing it from withdrawing. Replacing the spool and chain solved the issue.
Gate Repair
Customer Issue: Dry rot weakened a wooden gate, until one of the boards fell off during operation. Many of the others also showed signs of decay.
Our Solution: The wooden panels were all removed, and a new set of treated cedarwood boards with metal reinforced backs installed in their place. The new gate system was heavier than the last, but still within the opener’s ability to handle, and far stronger and more resilient.
Gate Won’t Close
Customer Issue: The customer’s double swing gate kept catching itself in the half-closed position after opening, not closing again all the way.
Our Solution: Our technicians recognized the signs of this very common automatic gate problem, and adjusted the safety lock system on the opener. After some trial and error, they recalibrated it to stop catching the gates before they’d closed completely, resolving the problem.
